In the early 2000s, a young, passionate, and visionary artisan from Umerkot, Mr, Khetaram Maheshwari, see the Banarasi bed covers in jaipur market he think that this is an opportunity to bring luxury silk bedcover from India into the homes of people in Sindh, Pakistan.
For that he dearming the total process how and when this possible , fot that he need humble beginnings, small machines, and few tailor and one cutting master in his home town umerkot, he laid the foundation of what would become a revolution in Umerkot’s textile craftsmanship.and start the inspiring story of how Banarsi, silk, velvet, and satin bedcovers began their journey in Umerkot and how one man’s creativity changed the face of local handicrafts and give local people business/work at their own city

From Jaipur to Karachi

In the year 2000, Mr, Khetaram Maheshwari visited Jaipur, India, where he met his brother in aw Mr. Hotchand Maheshwari, a well-established textile trader. There, he was introduced to Banarasi silk bedcovers, Velvet & satin Khajori bed sets, cushions, runners, mats, and pillow covers are famous in Jaipur

The rich colors, royal textures, and traditional Banarasi borders left a lasting impression on Khetaram. He instantly saw the possibility of recreating such luxury in Umerkot, a place known for its desert roots, not for silk, velvet

Back to home from jaipur Mr, Khetaram wasted no time. He made several trips to Banaras Market, Karachi for silk, velvet, and shiny satin cloth and go Bolton Market to find trims, thread, zari, and synthetic blends
and give local embroidery for custom orders with secretly sourcing Banarasi style borders from expert artisans in Karachi and Lahore ,and go Faisalabad sourcing strong cotton base fabric to ensure structure and durability.

The First Mahary (factory) open a Village Based Startup
Mr. Khetaram then traveled village to village around Umerkot and Thar, identifying talented tailors and young artisans with potential, with just 5 machines, one cutting master a rented small room

He set up the first stitching and assembling unit for Banarsi and silk bedcovers in Umerkot.
Early Products Included,King, Queen, and Twin bedcover sets, Matching cushions, pillow covers, mats, Runners and table covers with elegant Banarsi borders, Khajori-style velvety quilts with gold zari outline

journey From 5 to 100 Machines

The success was slow but steady. over the next 13 years, with:
Support from his brother and skilled community he is famous in bedcover business and feedback from Karachi’s Zainab Market traders a growing network of fabric suppliers and tailors,He grew from 5 machines to 100 running machines, offering mass production of high-quality Banarsi-style bedcovers—a first for Umerkot.
